Ferris RitcheyFerris Ritchey emphasizes his practice in the areas of family law, estate planning and probate law. Mr. Ritchey is admitted to practice in Alabama in both State and Federal Courts and is a member of the American, Alabama and Birmingham Bar Associations. Mr. Ritchey received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Alabama in 1981 and received his Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in 1984.

Mr. Ritchey has been a very active member in the legal community where he currently serves as President of the Birmingham Bar Foundation. He has served as Vice-President, Birmingham Bar Association Young Lawyers Section, President, Birmingham Bar Association Young Lawyers Section, President, Homewood Chamber of Commerce, Executive Committee - Family Law Section of the Alabama State Bar, Executive Committee - Birmingham Bar Association and Treasurer – Birmingham Bar Foundation.

Prior to Dempsey, Steed, Stewart, Ritchey & Gaché, LLP, Mr. Ritchey’s legal experience included private practice with Ritchey & Ritchey, PA from 1984 until 2005. Mr. Ritchey was born in Birmingham, Alabama and is currently married with two children and has also been an active participant in youth sports programs, his local church and other civic endeavors.
