Dana R. Gaché, MPH, JD

Dana R. Gaché primarily practices in the areas of corporate, general business, employment, and health care law. Her corporate/business practice focuses on the planning and formation of various corporate entities, mergers and acquisitions, and providing ongoing general business consultation to corporate clients. Ms. Gaché has extensive health care advisory experience, including the representation of numerous multi-specialty physicians, practice management companies, managed care networks, health maintenance organizations, hospitals, nursing homes, durable medical equipment companies, and other health care organizations in matters involving formation and operations; certificate of need review; physician self-referral (Stark) and fraud and abuse compliance; federal and state regulatory compliance; development and implementation of compliance programs; reimbursement, billing, and contractual issues relating to Medicare, Medicaid and other third party payors; antitrust compliance; HIPAA compliance; and formation of health care joint ventures.
Ms. Gaché received her Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, from the University of Montevallo in 1992, her Masters in Public Health from the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1995, and her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, in 1995. Ms. Gaché began her legal career by practicing corporate and health care law with Sirote & Permutt, PC.
Over her career, Ms. Gaché has lectured on many business and health care issues before the Medical Group Management Association (both local chapters and at numerous state meetings), The Birmingham Entrepreneurial Center, American Cancer Society, Birmingham Association of Underwriters, Alabama Radiology Association and the Shelby County Mental Health System. Ms. Gaché also co-authored the “Corporate Practice of Medicine, A 50 State Survey,” for the National Health Lawyers Association and authored various health care related articles in local and state publications.
Ms. Gaché is a member of the Alabama State Bar and the American Health Lawyers Association. Ms. Gaché is an active participant in various non-profit organizations, youth programs and her local church.
